Week 17: Devilled Eggs

Recipe from At My Table.

It’s always nice when a recipe appears on the Meal Wheel that’s one of the recipes Nigella has made on the television show, not only can you see the photo of what it should look like, but you also get the added bonus of watching her make it first.

I followed Nigella’s instructions for boiling eggs which I hadn’t done before, but then I thought it safe given I’ve never boiled this many eggs in one go (I actually boiled six more than necessary and had to split between two pans). The process of mashing up the filling with the yolks was a breeze, and piping into the boiled whites was all well and good. That is until a thick blob blocked the nozzle and the filling started seeping out the stitching! It took me back to my days as a Sales Clerk in Thorntons, I would pipe messages with icing onto chocolate slabs, and have been my mum’s go-to piper ever since.

As I accidentally boiled more eggs than necessary I had leftover filling which I used as a sandwich filling the next day… we hate waste in this house!
