Week 12: Sausages with Sauerkraut

When I was at college, my French teacher (who also taught German) brought in some home made sauerkraut for us all to try as we were having a lesson on European foods. I was the only one who went up for seconds, and for that I was awarded team points and ended up being the reason our team won whatever contest we were playing that lesson.

That was my first experience with sauerkraut and I’ve had it a few times since, mostly at either Eurovision parties or in Germany when visiting friends there. I have no issue with this, the taste or texture, but I know many people do, so was more that happy to make this for myself.

This is yet another recipe from Nigella Express that is a one-pot, super simple dish to make, hob it for half, oven it for half, enjoy it for as long as it lasts. There are a limited number of ingredients in this one, but the flavour upon serving proves you don’t need any more.
